Meet Barry Butler – One of our ‘Chicagoans You Should Know’

There are many people in Chicago who have their way to show affection for the city that they love.

Barry Butler does so through a great passion in his life: Photography – and he’s done a pretty good job.

The Chicagoan has built a tremendous following on social media with his stunning photographs of different venues in the area. From sunrises along Lake Michigan to “Chicagohenge” every spring and fall, if there is a good picture to be had of the city, Barry’s going to be there.

It’s a passion that started as a hobby thanks to an injury that kept him from playing his first love, the sport of hockey. He took up photography after that, taking pictures in Chicago at first to prepare for bigger trips domestically and abroad.

But when he noticed that he began to enjoy taking pictures of the “Windy City” and his photos gained traction on social media, Barry’s primary focus became Chicago. It’s rare to see a day go by where he doesn’t have a new view of something in the city up on his feed for people to enjoy.

Ankin Law, a personal injury law firm in Chicago, is featuring Barry in our latest edition of “Chicagoans You Should Know. This is a near decade-long series in which we spotlight those in our area that are doing big things in our community.

You can watch our story on Barry in the video.
