One of the most difficult cases that we deal with at Ankin Law concerns someone who is deceased.

Sometimes it’s due to an accident or other times due to a case of Medical Malpractice. No matter how it happened, it becomes incredibly important for the lawyer on the case to handle it with competence and care.
So how does an attorney balance that?
It’s a question that we decided to ask Jeff Schulkin, our Medical Malpractice attorney, since he has handled a few cases involving death during his long legal career.
Here’s his answer:
“It’s always bittersweet. Anytime we’re getting a significant result for somebody, it just means the loss was so great. So it’s always bittersweet, but it felt good to be able to do something to improve the quality of their lives .We always say it’s sort of like, ‘The rainbow after the rainstorm.’ At least there is some positive to come about from this.”
Schulkin has been heading up the Medical Malpractice department at Ankin Law since March of 2023.
