Ankin Law Attorneys Give Job Advice to De Paul Law Students

For the second time in four months, Ankin Law took part in an event featuring future lawyers at DePaul University.

Attorneys Jennifer Kelly and Jake Nabat were on hand to talk with students at the 1L/2L Job Fair on February 12 at the law school’s campus in the Loop.

It’s the second event the pair have taken part in at DePaul, as they were involved in the Practice Area Exploration Fair on October 14, 2025.

Together, they answered questions about Ankin Law while also offering advice as these future lawyers seek summer jobs.

“Be authentic and be excited,” said Kelly, who is a graduate of DePaul Law. “The playing field is even for most candidates, so it’s really about you as an individual and us being able to see the potential in you as a person.”

Nabat, a graduate of UIC Law and a personal injury attorney for Ankin Law, had his own advice for students.

“Get out of your comfort zone and talk to as many people as possible, because you may not know what you want to do in the summer, and that’s OK,” said Nabat. “Because now is the time to talk to really talk to people, learn about people’s professions and really hone in on what you think you would be good at.”
