Cicero, IL (April 6, 2026) – A crash involving police vehicles left five people hurt early Monday, April 6, at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Cicero Avenue. The incident happened around 4:49 a.m. while officers were investigating a series of burglaries tied to local gaming businesses.

Police said officers were following a suspected vehicle that had entered a strip mall parking lot near 16th Street and Cicero Avenue. The driver of a dark Acura SUV then sped away north on Cicero Avenue as officers attempted to follow.

During the pursuit, a police vehicle collided with a turning semi-truck and two other cars at the intersection. The crash caused heavy damage to multiple vehicles and left several people injured at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that three civilians suffered injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Two police officers were also hurt in the crash and transported to a local hospital. One of the officers required surgery following the incident.

The driver of the Acura continued northbound and left the area. Police have not released further details about the suspect or any arrests.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
