The incident occurred at approximately 5:16 a.m. at the Waste Management Renewable Natural Gas Facility, located at 1975 South Route 83.

The Grayslake Fire Protection District arrived on scene following reports of two roll-off trucks fully engulfed in flames near a natural gas fueling station. Firefighters found both vehicles heavily involved upon arrival and immediately deployed multiple hose lines while establishing a water supply to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby equipment and the adjacent fueling station.
