Braidwood, IL (November 17, 2025) – A violent crash involving two semi-trucks sent both drivers to the hospital early Sunday, November 16. The collision happened just before 3 a.m. along Interstate 55 in the Braidwood area, according to the Illinois State Police.

Troopers said one semi-truck traveled in the southbound lanes when it crossed the center median for unknown reasons. It entered the northbound side of the interstate and struck a second semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused serious damage to both vehicles.
Medical crews airlifted both drivers to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials did not immediately release details about the severity of their injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
