An Ankin Law Attorney’s Long Road Back to Chicago

When he arrived at Ankin Law in August of 2020, it was the completion of a long road home.

Attorney Jeff Lust is a Chicago native, but his journey in law took him well outside of Illinois for a few decades.

Raised in the “Windy City,” he went to college first at Indiana University in Bloomington with aspirations of being a doctor.

With those aspirations gone by the time of graduation, Jeff started his legal career at Tulane University’s School of Law.

After doing so practice in New Orleans, he then went to Dallas, Texas where he remained for over 20 years. Was that the time to go home? Not yet.

After that, Jeff returned to the “Big Easy” for seven more years before the itch to come back home crept up.

“We have family in Chicago. A bunch of my family is here, has always been here. My kids are here,” said Lust. “So we decided to comeback to Chicago.”

That was in 2020 when a unique discussion with Attorney Howard Ankin led to more meetings and a spot at Ankin Law.

Jeff arrived in the summer of that year and has managed new business for the firm ever since.

Part of his job is working with the staff of the intake department to help cases get signed up and sent to attorneys. That includes aiding the senior members of the department while also talking with intake specialists, who speak directly to clients daily.
