Why This Chicago Legal Assistant Is Pursuing Law

Most of the people that find their way into personal injury law do so because of one simple reason: To help people.

But initially Alexis Zamudio thought she might go on another path to make that become a reality.

This native of Chicago and graduate of DePaul University was initially considering a career as a social worker, believing this would give her the best chance to accomplish her goal.

Some reflection, however, brought her to start looking at the law as a more effective way to do so. Alexis began that journey as she was an undergraduate, taking a legal assistant position at Ankin Law in 2023.

Since then, she’s been working with Attorney Telly Liapis to aid the personal injury clients that come to us for help. This is part of Alexis’ preparation for law school, which she hopes to begin soon after completing her undergraduate studies at DePaul.

In the meantime, she’ll continue to help those who are in need of help after being hurt as she works with Telly to aid personal injury clients.

You can learn more about Alexis in this edition of “Spotlight” which you can watch in the video.
