Union County, IL (February 10, 2025) – Troopers with the Illinois State Police said that a driver was cited after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 northbound in Union County.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened near milepost 32, north of Illinois Route 146, around 8:35 a.m. on Monday, February 10. Troopers say the preliminary investigation showed a 2011 gray Nissan Maxima was going north on I-57 in the construction zone approaching a 2017 gray Nissan Murano. The two collided and crashed into a third vehicle, a 2012 gray Nissan Altima which was then pushed into the back of a 2020 gray Freightliner semi truck.
Two women werehospitalzied in unknown condition. That said, no further details were released. An investigation is still ongoing, and law enforcement officials are handling it in the interim.
