Teacher of the Month

Ankin Law donates over $50,000 to Chicago-area schools

Howard Ankin understands the power of a good education and the teachers who help shape future generations. That’s why supporting educators through WGN’s long-running Teacher of the Month program is an important part of Ankin Law’s commitment to giving back.

Now in its fifth year as sponsor, Ankin Law has donated more than $50,000 to outstanding educators across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, representing elementary, middle, high school and special education programs. Airing during the academic school year from September through May, the program recognizes one exceptional teacher each month. Students and parents submit nominations, and a panel of three WGN judges evaluates candidates based on classroom achievement, community involvement, and innovative teaching methods.

Each winner is interviewed by WGN anchor Lauren Jiggetts, and their school receives a $1,000 check from Ankin Law. The segments air three times on WGN and are archived and available to watch on the station’s website and Ankin Law’s YouTube channel. Watch the September segment here.

For nearly 30 years, Ankin Law has been part of the Chicago community, making its partnership with Chicago’s Very Own WGN a natural fit. Supporting Chicago-area teachers—that’s Ankin Law. Watch our Teacher of the Month Commercial
