Tazewell County, IL (August 25, 2024) – A man is dead following a car accident Saturday morning, August 24, per officers with the Illinois State Police.
The Tazewell County Coroner’s Office responded to Towerline Road and Toboggan Avenue intersection in rural Green Valley for a two-vehicle accident. Police were first alerted at 11:15 a.m. of the accident. The victim was pronounced dead at the accident scene at around 12:30 p.m. The name is being withheld at this time pending notification from his family.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning and further information will be released following the autopsy by Coroner Charles R. Hanley. However, it’s unclear if anybody else was hurt in the incident. In the interim, no other details were released, and an investigation remains ongoing at this time.
