Rantoul, IL – Woman Killed in Car Crash at 1400 E & 2700 N

Rantoul, IL (November 3, 2024) – A Rantoul woman is dead following an early morning car accident on Sunday, November 3.

According to Champaign County Coroner Stephen Thuney, a 54-year-old woman died after sustaining injuries in the collision. Thuney said that the preliminary investigation indicates that one of the vehicles involved rolled over south of 1400 East and 2700 North in rural Rantoul.

The death is under investigation by the Champaign County Coroner’s Office and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday. No further details were released in the interim about those who were hurt or about circumstances leading to the accident, but an inquiry is ongoing.
