Pesotum, IL – Hit-and-Run Crash, Injuries on I-57 at MP 220

Pesotum, IL (July 9, 2024) – First responders were on the scene of a hit-and-run crash on I-57 northbound on Monday, July 8.

Illinois State Police said they responded to a two-car hit-and-run crash at milepost 220, near Pesotum, around 7:00 a.m. According to police, a black passenger car left the scene after a red Tesla left the roadway and became disabled. Additional first responders, including the Savoy Fire Department, were also on the scene, and EMTs transported an unknown number of victims. However, officers with the Pesotum Police Department are investigating the collision and asked any witnesses to come forward. No further details have been provided in the interim.
