Peoria, IL (September 6, 2024) – Three people were transported to an area hospital for treatment after a two-vehicle collision occurred in the North Peoria area on Tuesday, September 3.
According to the Peoria Fire Department, the victims were taken by Advanced Medical Transporter after the collision, which occurred at about 10:50 a.m. in the 5500 block of North Knoxville Avenue, near the Carle Health-Proctor Hospital. Per Battalion Chief Larry Carter, arriving firefighters found a two-vehicle crash. One vehicle had rolled over, and the other was on its side.
All three occupants were initially entrapped, but one of the drivers was able to get out on their own. He added that the other two, who were in the rolled vehicle, had to be extricated by firefighters. The cause of the collision has not yet been announced, but an inquiry into the crash is underway. No further details were released in the interim.
