Peoria, IL (May 5, 2025) – One person was hospitalized after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 74 on Saturday afternoon, May 3.

At 12:20 p.m., the driver of the motorcycle went to exit I-74 onto University Street when the power “shut down” to the motorcycle from an apparent mechanical failure, causing it to crash, said the Illinois State Police. The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into an embankment off the roadway, they said, but it’s unclear if any other vehicles were involved.
One person was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries, state police said. In the interim, law enforcement officers are investigating the accident.
