New Douglas, IL (September 12, 2024) – A motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital with “serious injuries” after a crash with a tractor-trailer on Tuesday near New Douglas in northern Madison County, Illinois State Police said.
The crash involving a truck and motorcycle occurred at about 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of New Douglas and Ulrich Roads, police said. New Douglas Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dan Robertson said the intersection was closed until about 7:00 p.m.
However, no further details were released, and authorities asked witnesses to step forward. In the interim, the officers are investigating the accident and have not said whether citations or charges are pending.
