Mount Prospect, IL (June 19, 2024) – According to local authorities, police have released the identity of the motorcyclist killed in a Sunday evening collision with a car. Przemyslaw Sztafa, 51, of Arlington Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Algonquin Road (Route 62) and Dearborn Court in Mount Prospect.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Sztafa’s cause of death is pending the result of an autopsy. Police arrived at the scene of the crash around 5:30 p.m. and found a damaged motorcycle in the intersection while firefighters were tending to Sztafa, who then succumbed to his injuries.
A preliminary investigation has revealed Sztafa was traveling westbound when he collided with the passenger side of a gray Mercedes sedan driven by a 63-year-old Mount Prospect man, who allegedly turned left in front of Sztafa onto Dearborn Court from eastbound Algonquin Road. However, the Mount Prospect Police Department is still conducting an inquiry into the incident and did not release further details.
