Minooka, IL – Man Killed, Woman Hurt in School Bus Crash on Shepley Rd

Minooka, IL (May 17, 2024) – A motorcycle and a school bus were involved in a crash near Minooka Wednesday afternoon, leaving the motorcyclist dead, per local authorities who responded. At around 3:15 p.m., Will County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 24000 block of West Shepley Road in unincorporated Troy Township near Minooka.

The sheriff’s office said a school bus with 15 kids was traveling on Shepley Road when it was involved in the collision with a two-person motorcycle. The man on the motorcycle died. A woman suffered serious injuries but was conscious when she was taken to an area hospital. The children on the bus were not seriously injured. The sheriff’s office said they were removed from the scene, and their parents and caretakers were contacted. In the interim, officers are still investigating the collision, but no further details are available as the inquiry proceeds.
