Melrose Park, IL (April 30, 2024) – The Melrose Park Police Department is investigating after a man riding a motorized bicycle was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 5:00 a.m. near North Avenue and 5th Avenue. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, the man has died. Police said the man was in his 30s and riding a black motorized bicycle. The driver who hit him is also unidentified, police said. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Det. Velaquez with the Melrose Park PD. However, no further details were released, and the incident is still under investigation.
