Melrose Park, IL (May 2, 2024) – A bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run in Melrose Park has been identified as Jerome Ford from Chicago, per authorities’ released reports on Thursday.
Melrose Park police said Ford was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash near Gottlieb Hospital Tuesday morning. He was dragged about 400 feet after being hit by a vehicle that kept going, and the search for the suspect is now underway. Witnesses in the area, close to the intersection of 7th and North Avenue around 5:00 a.m., were asked to step forward. No other details were released in the interim.
