Meet our November 2025 Ankin Law/WGN Teacher of the Month

While the calendar year may be coming to an end, the giving of “Teacher of the Month” awards in Chicagoland is far from done.

In fact, we’ve only just begun, with our next stop in November coming in the suburbs.

Ankin Law was proud to join WGN-TV in giving out the award to Mr. Nick Wojtas of South Elgin High School in Elgin Area School District U-46.

Attorney Kayla Coates presented the award to the Social Studies teacher in November, with a number of his students on hand to salute him for winning the award.

On the faculty at South Elgin High School since 2012, Wojtas has been teaching human geography, civics, and economics. He tailors his lessons to real-world events, giving him a better chance of connecting with his students.

Wojtas becomes the third teacher to be honored with the Ankin Law and WGN “Teacher of the Month” award in the 2025-2026 academic year. He joins York High School’s Isador Parrini (September) and Jillian Nolke (October) as winners so far.

You can see the profile of Wojtas by WGN’s Lauren Jiggetts in the video.
