Logan County, IL (May 22, 2024) – State Police have shared new details on a Route 54 accident that took place on Tuesday evening in the area of Logan County.
Around 5:50 p.m., police responded to reports of four separate crashes near 2000 Avenue. Six people reported injuries on the scene and were taken to local hospitals. Nine vehicles total had to be towed, including what appeared to be a large semi-truck. The roadway was temporarily shut down but was eventually reopened at 9:45 p.m. Illinois State Police also responded to the scene. In the meantime, the collision is still being investigated, and no charges or citations have been filed. Witnesses were asked to contact local authorities in the interim.
