Lake Co, IL – Giovanni Robinson Identified in Deadly Car Crash on Grove Ave

Lake County, IL (November 12, 2024) – Lake County officials are investigating after one of eight people injured in a two-vehicle collision over the weekend died, authorities stated on Tuesday.

The crash happened at about 8:10 p.m. Sunday when a GMC Suburban and a Chevy Silverado collided in the 1400 block of Grove Avenue in North Chicago, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

Two people were critically injured in the crash, and six others were injured. One of the men seriously hurt, Giovanni Robinson, 24, died in the intensive care unit at Advocate Condell Medical Center on Monday, authorities confirmed. Robinson, of North Chicago, died from blunt force injuries sustained in the collision, according to the news release.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. However, police are still investigating the cause of the accident. Witnesses were asked to contact the Ingleside or Morton Grove Police Department if they had more information.
