Joliet, IL (July 8, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police (ISP), a woman killed in a crash on westbound I-80 near I-55 on Friday, July 5, has been identified as a 44-year-old woman from Momence, the Will County Coroner’s Office said.
Officials said Jeanna St. Peter was pronounced dead at the scene on I-80. On Friday, Illinois State Police said troopers responded to a multi-vehicle fatal crash on I-80, just west of I-55, just after 7:00 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that St. Peter was fatally hit while standing outside her vehicle. All westbound lanes were closed following the crash, though they have since reopened. However, the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
