Ingleside, IL (October 6, 2025) – A Lake County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a three-vehicle collision on Saturday, October 4.

Deputy Injured in DUI Crash at Rte 134 & Main St

The incident occurred at about 3:25 p.m. when the deputy was driving westbound on Route 134 near Main Street. According to officials, a BMW SUV attempted a U-turn from Main Street onto Route 134, directly into the path of the squad car. The impact forced the deputy’s vehicle into a Chevrolet pickup truck that was stopped at the intersection.

Emergency responders treated the deputy for injuries, and he was later released from a nearby hospital. The BMW’s driver, a 45-year-old Roselle resident, and a front seat passenger were also hospitalized after the crash.

Authorities reported that open alcohol containers were found inside the BMW, and they suspect the crash was alcohol-related.

Investigators are continuing to review the details of the collision.

We wish the injured deputy and all others hurt in this accident a full and swift recovery.

Drunk Driving Accidents in Illinois

Drunk driving accidents remain one of the most dangerous causes of crashes in Illinois. Despite years of awareness campaigns and stronger laws, intoxicated drivers still threaten the safety of everyone on the road. This recent crash reported is a reminder of how quickly these incidents can unfold and how devastating the outcome can be.

Alcohol slows reaction time, clouds judgment, and increases the chance of serious injury. In Illinois, law enforcement continues to respond to impaired driving cases that often result in injuries to innocent people. Victims of these crashes may face long recoveries, medical bills, and emotional trauma.

When someone is injured in a collision caused by an impaired driver, they may be entitled to compensation. This can cover medical expenses, lost income, rehabilitation, and pain and suffering. An experienced drunk driving accident attorney can help victims of drunk driving accidents hold the responsible party accountable.

Some of the damages that victims may recover include:

  • Emergency medical treatment and hospital care
  • Costs of long-term therapy or rehabilitation
  • Lost wages or reduced earning ability
  • Compensation for physical pain and emotional distress

Victims of drunk driving accidents should not face these challenges alone. The law allows injured individuals to pursue justice and secure the financial support they need to move forward.
