Ingleside, IL – Deadly Metra Train Crash at Wilson Rd & Larkin Ln

Ingleside, IL (July 15, 2024) – Ingleside Police Department officers are investigating after at least one person was killed when a train and a vehicle crashed in the north suburbs on Monday, July 15, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Metra authorities added that inbound train #2124 struck a vehicle in the Ingleside area near the intersection of Wilson Road and Larkin Lane. The sheriff’s office and Fox Lake police were at the scene of the crash.

It was not immediately known how many people were on the train during the accident. According to Metra, the crash happened before 8:00 a.m., and local police are handling the investigation. However, additional details were not readily available, and police are still conducting their inquiry into the cause of the accident at this time. Witnesses were asked to contact the Ingleside or Metro Police Department if they had more information.
