‘Getting Personal’: What’s it like being a new attorney?

One of the new ways that we’re trying to help people get to know us around Chicagoland and beyond is our podcast “Getting Personal.”

It’s a way to get to meet the people of Ankin Law in a more personal way as they continue to work to help those in need in Chicagoland.

In the second episode of our podcast, we’re “Getting Personal” with Attorney Kayla Coates, who is now in her second year of practice at our law firm.

In this edition of the podcast, Kayla speaks with Larry Hawley primarily about the start of her law career, having started working at Ankin Law in November 2023 after graduating from law school in Mississippi.

Since then, she’s been working in our Workers’ Compensation department, representing clients that have been hurt on the job. Kayla’s been learning the ins and outs of practicing the law while also learning to cope with the good and bad that comes with the job.

During this episode, Kayla also talked about getting to know more about Chicago as a native of Memphis and what she enjoys about the city.
