Freeport, IL (June 7, 2024) – According to officers with the Freeport Police Department, four individuals were hospitalized as a result of a major accident that occurred in Freeport at approximately noon on Tuesday.

On Friday, the Freeport Fire Department released details and footage of the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Galena Avenue and Iroquois Street. Two vehicles, including a Chevrolet Corvette and a Dodge Charger, were involved in the crash. Both cars had to be towed from the scene, and the accident resulted in additional damage to a nearby telephone pole. EMTs transferred at least four people to a local medical center, though their current conditions are unknown. The collision is still being investigated by the FPD at this time.
