Ford Heights, IL (May 3, 2024) – Three individuals were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in the south suburbs on Wednesday night, one of them a small child. The collision also injured a second child.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred at around 7:55 p.m. in Ford Heights, in the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway. Authorities say a Chrysler struck a Nissan while traveling east on Lincoln Highway.
At the scene, the driver of the Chrysler was declared deceased. At nearby hospitals, the Nissan’s driver and a child riding in the Nissan were declared deceased. Police said that another child, a 4-year-old girl, was among the injured passengers in the Nissan and remains hospitalized. The collision is still being investigated by the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, and no other details were available.
