Decatur, IL (June 14, 2025) – A Decatur man is dead and two more people were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Decatur.

It happened on June 13, just after 3:00 p.m., near the intersection of West Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive.
Police said a PT Cruiser was sitting in the eastbound lane of Rock Springs Road facing westbound before turning into a westbound lane towards a driveway, when a truck going westbound crashed with the side of the car.
There were two men in the truck, an 18-year-old driver and a juvenile passenger. Both were sent to the hospital with minor injuries. The 68-year-old driver of the PT Cruiser died after going to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say there were no indications that the driver of the truck was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. An investigation remains ongoing at this time, and additional details will be released in the coming days.
