Coles Co, IL – Rollover Truck Accident Injures Victims on I-57 at CR 1000

Coles County, IL (June 21, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police who responded to the incident, a commercial truck rollover accident occurred on I-57 northbound with a partial lane blockage.

Police say the accident, which happened in Coles County near milepost 198, resulted in injuries to at least one victim at the scene. The passing lane was partially blocked, resulting in a detour directed to exit 192 to County Road 1000N to Illinois Highway 130. The Coles County Sheriff’s Office said traffic was backed up to mile marker 196. Officials urged drivers to avoid the area, though witnesses who had additional information about the incident were asked to contact officers right away. However, the crash is still being investigated, and no additional details were reported.
