Chicago, IL (July 13, 2025) – A woman is dead after being hit by an SUV in the South Loop on Sunday morning, July 13.

According to the Chicago Police Department, a 35-year-old woman was driving eastbound in the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road around 6:40 a.m. when she hit a 69-year-old woman walking in the street. The 69-year-old woman was pronounced dead after police and firefighters arrived on the scene of the crash.
Police have the 35-year-old woman in custody, and charges are pending. No further information was immediately available about the cause of the incident, but the investigation is ongoing at this time.
