What Evidence To Collect After a Crash in Chicago

The most helpful items usually include photos of the vehicles, visible injuries, the surrounding roadway, and traffic signals. Contact and insurance details from everyone involved are also important. In many cases, obtaining a copy of the official accident report adds another key piece of documentation.

Photos should be taken from several angles, showing damage, skid marks, debris, and weather conditions. If there are witnesses, their names and phone numbers can help clarify how the collision occurred.

Keep copies of medical records, discharge papers, and receipts as well. These documents connect injuries directly to the crash and show the type of treatment received.

Injury accidents can raise questions about insurance coverage and next steps. A Chicago car accident lawyer can review collected evidence and explain how it may apply to a claim.

Legal guidance may also help organize medical bills, repair estimates, and communication with insurers.
