Fire and Burn Accidents in Chicago
Fire-related injuries can be devastating and often require long-term medical care. In urban areas like Chicago, structure fires in multi-unit buildings are unfortunately common. Smoke inhalation, like in this recent Logan Square incident, is a leading cause of injury during residential fires.
Victims of fires often face:
- Painful burns and breathing issues
- Hospital stays and costly treatments
- Emotional trauma and displacement
When someone is injured due to a fire—whether it starts because of faulty wiring, landlord negligence, or another party’s actions—it may be possible to pursue legal compensation through a personal injury claim. A qualified burn or fire injury lawyer can investigate who was responsible and determine if negligence played a role.
Victims may be able to recover damages for:
- Medical expenses
- Pain and suffering
- Lost income
- Property damage
