Chicago, IL (September 2, 2024) – A 19-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning, August 31, after a hit-and-run on the city’s Southwest Side.

The crash happened around 1:20 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Cicero Avenue, near Midway Airport. According to Chicago police, an unknown vehicle struck the teen and then fled the scene without stopping.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided medical care before transporting the pedestrian to a nearby hospital. Police confirmed the teenager remains in serious condition.
Authorities do not yet have a description of the vehicle involved. Investigators continue to search for the driver responsible for the crash.
