Chicago, IL (April 17, 2024) – On Monday, just outside Fenger High School, Chicago Police Department officers responded to the scene of a hit-and-run that left a student severely injured.
The collision occurred just as students were dismissed from class for the day. The 15-year-old boy was struck by the driver of a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo while crossing the street near 112th Street and Wallace Street, according to investigators. The driver fled the scene without stopping to administer assistance. As of now, the victim’s condition at Comer Children’s Hospital is critical. CPD officers continue to investigate in the meantime, though no further details have been released.
