Bus Accidents in Illinois

Bus accidents in Illinois can cause devastating injuries because buses carry many passengers and often lack seat belts. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, hundreds of school bus crashes happen every year across the state. Many occur on busy city streets where sudden stops, speeding, or distracted driving increase the risk of multi-vehicle collisions.

Children are especially vulnerable in these crashes. Even minor impacts can lead to concussions, fractures, or emotional trauma. Recovery may take weeks or months, and families often face medical bills, missed work, and long-term stress.

Victims of school bus accidents may be entitled to compensation for:

  • Medical treatment and rehabilitation
  • Lost wages or income
  • Pain, suffering, and emotional distress
  • Long-term or permanent disability

Insurance companies sometimes offer low settlements that do not reflect the full cost of recovery. A trusted Chicago bus accident lawyer can gather evidence, handle communications with insurers, and ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries.
