Chicago, IL (November 8, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police (ISP) and local officers, a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a Metra train on the city’s North Side.
The accident involving Metra UP-N train No. 305 happened just after 6:00 a.m. Friday near Clybourn. Metra has confirmed the pedestrian has died. That said, the victim’s identity has not yet been released. Metra authorities said the inbound and outbound train movement was stopped near Clybourn. No further information has been provided at this time. It’s unclear if citations are pending, but an inquiry into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
