Chicago, IL (May 22, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision early Monday morning led to the closure of northbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Hollywood Avenue in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, according to local authorities.

The crash occurred when a 25-year-old man driving a Nissan northbound struck the rear of a Honda HR-V, driven by a 64-year-old man, before continuing forward and hitting a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 43-year-old man.
The Nissan driver sustained serious internal injuries and was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition. A 21-year-old passenger in the same vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The drivers of the Honda and Chevrolet were treated for back and shoulder pain at Weiss Hospital and reported to be in fair condition.
Police cited the Nissan driver for speeding as the investigation into the crash continues.
