Chicago, IL (August 10, 2024) – According to officers with the Chicago Police Department, they are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash on the Near West Side.
Police said just before 6:00 p.m. Friday, a 45-year-old man was riding a scooter across Ruble Street near UIC when a black Dodge Charger hit him in the 600 block of West Taylor Street. The victim was seriously injured, per investigators, but his current condition is unknown.
Police described the vehicle as a black Dodge Charger with damage to the front passenger windshield. The vehicle has Illinois license plate number ER88171 and was last seen driving westbound on 71st Street and Halsted Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Unit, though the incident remains under investigation.
