The Illinois State Police said a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man from South Wilmington was unable to slow down in time for other cars that were in front of him. As a result, his vehicle rear-ended a car driven by a 64-year-old man of Woodridge, whose vehicle then struck a vehicle operated by a Braidwood woman of unknown age.

According to Illinois State Police troopers, the 64-year-old man was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. At approximately 3:30 p.m., all lanes were opened, though the crash remains under investigation. Although no more information is currently available in the interim, troopers also asked any witnesses with additional information to come forward.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their loved ones at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
