Chicago, IL (August 12, 2024) – A male driver was killed in a car crash overnight on Sunday, August 11, in Archer Heights on the city’s Southwest Side, according to local officers.
According to Chicago Police Department officers, a man was driving south in a silver sedan in the 3600 block of West 47th Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday when a white SUV driven by another man and going north struck the sedan.
The driver of the silver sedan sustained severe trauma in the crash, per police. Chicago Fire Department personnel arrived on scene to treat the male and transport him to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released the condition of the driver of the white SUV. However, the crash remains under investigation, and police asked witnesses in the area to step forward.
