Chicago, IL (January 27, 2025) – Officers have released an update related to a collision that took place over the weekend, adding that a 69-year-old Des Plaines man died Sunday morning, January 26, at Lutheran General Hospital from injuries sustained in the two-car crash.

The identity of the driver is not being released until family members have been notified, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department. Police said the crash occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Bloomington Avenue, in the very northwest section of the Village. It shut down the road for several hours for crash cleanup and an investigation.
Police and fire personnel responded to the scene of the crash, which was originally reported at Lake Cook and Wilke Roads. It was quickly located further west at Bloomington Avenue. That said, no additional details were released, and an inquiry is still ongoing.
