Chicago, IL (April 26, 2025) – Illinois State Police troopers said a semi-truck crashed into a building in suburban West Chicago on Wednesday afternoon, April 23, causing disruption to traffic in the area and an unknown number of victim injuries.

West Chicago fire and police responded to the scene at 1:45 p.m. at Powis Road and Harvester Road, according to the West Chicago Police Department. All lanes of traffic on Powis Road from Arthur Drive to Hawthorne Lane are closed, police said. Harvester Road was closed at Powis Road.
However, it’s unclear how many people were hurt; EMTs responded but did not confirm the total number of victim injuries. An investigation remains ongoing at this time, and further details will be released in the coming days.
