Truck Accidents in Chicago
Truck accidents in Chicago often cause severe injuries due to the size and weight of commercial vehicles. The early morning crash is a reminder of how quickly a normal commute can turn dangerous when large trucks are involved. These types of accidents frequently lead to hospitalizations, property damage, and lengthy traffic delays.
Several factors commonly contribute to truck accidents, including:
- Driver fatigue or distracted driving
- Improperly secured cargo or overloaded trailers
- Poor weather or low visibility
- Equipment failures, such as brake or tire issues
- Speeding or unsafe lane changes
When a truck collides with smaller vehicles, the occupants of those vehicles often suffer the most serious harm. Victims may face broken bones, back or neck injuries, or even long-term disabilities. Medical bills, lost wages, and emotional distress can quickly add up, making recovery both physically and financially challenging.
Illinois law allows victims of truck crashes to pursue compensation for their losses. This can include medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering. Working with an experienced Chicago personal injury attorney can make a major difference in securing fair compensation. Attorneys can investigate the cause of the crash, collect vital evidence such as camera footage and truck maintenance logs, and negotiate with insurance companies on behalf of the injured.
