Cass County, IL (August 8, 2024) – First responders and local officers say that an Illinois man was arrested after deputies were called to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident near Highway 71 and Interstate 80 on Wednesday.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the reporting party advised that their vehicle was struck by a white Ford pickup with green decorations. This pickup continued east on Interstate 80, eventually exiting south towards Anita on Highway 148. Officers ultimately apprehended the driver a short time later; that said, police did not release information about the victims’ current conditions or the extent of their injuries. However, officers are investigating the collision and asked any witnesses to come forward. No further details have been provided in the interim.
