Bureau County, IL (July 11, 2024) – According to troopers with the Illinois State Police (ISP) and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office, 34-year-old Devin Finley of Mendota was killed in a Monday morning crash initially reported by authorities on Tuesday.

The coroner says the incident remains under investigation, but no autopsy is anticipated. Per ISP troopers, they were called just before 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning about an accident involving a car and a pedestrian. Devin Finley was pronounced dead just east of the Route 89 exit off of Interstate 80.
Westbound traffic was diverted until it was allowed to open back up on I-80 about two hours after the crash. Police did not immediately provide further information about the crash, but the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
