Boone County, IL (September 10, 2024) – A crash in rural Boone County on Saturday claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman, according to reports from authorities released on Sunday.
Judy Streit of Capron was pronounced dead at the scene, per the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. At around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, first responders rushed to the intersection of Woodstock Road and Boone McHenry County Line Road for a two-vehicle crash.
Investigators say Streit was southbound on Boone McHenry County Line road when her car was hit by a vehicle headed west on Woodstock Road. The driver of the other vehicle, a 67-year-old woman from Loves Park, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. That said, no further details have been released. While officers requested witnesses to come forward, the incident is under further investigation.
