Basco, IL (June 12, 2025) – Illinois State Police troopers say that a woman is dead after a head-on crash near Basco, Illinois, on Wednesday morning.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the intersection of County Road 900 North and County Road 1900 East for a fatal crash just before 10:00 a.m.
Officers stated that one woman was taken to Carthage Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The woman’s passengers, a boy and a man, were taken to Blessing Hospital for injuries. The boy was later taken to a hospital in Springfield for further treatment. That said, no further details were released as an inquiry remains ongoing.
