Jill Wagner grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where her father was the community’s general surgeon and her mother is a registered nurse. Jill’s older siblings also became attorneys. Jill’s parents often treated Workers’ Compensation patients and accordingly, Jill’s understanding of work related injuries stems from her youth. Jill can recall her parent’s discussions over demand for quality patient care. Jill’s home environment and her hometown of Stevens Point, the hub of Sentry Insurance Company, provided Jill with the ideal exposure and drive to ensure that people hurt on the job receive fair compensation.
Jill attended Indiana University on scholarship and graduated with high honors. She then attended John Marshall Law School where she was on the Dean’s list, nominated for best advocate in trial advocacy and finished at the top of the school’s moot court competition. Jill also was a legal writing teacher’s assistant, assisting other law students with research and writing. Following her first year, Jill worked for First Defense Legal Aid providing the indigent with their legal rights after arrest.
Throughout law school Jill was a law clerk with the Ankin Law Office. Jill became an invaluable asset to the firm in helping to prepare claims for trial and in her technical research and writing skills. Jill accompanied lawyers at Ankin Law to the Commission and hit the ground running as a lawyer upon her passing her bar exam. Today, Jill maintains a full worker’s compensation caseload. She has the reputation of being very organized, detailed, and zealous in her advocacy, all while having an upbeat and immediately likable personality.
In her leisure time, Jill enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
